A Little Gratitude and a Whole Lot of Joy
This past weekend, I finally got to deliver some copies of my book to friends - thankfully, they arrived after what felt like forever! There's something surreal about handing your story, your words, your heart on paper, to the people who know you in real life. It’s equal parts exciting and terrifying. Will they like it? Will they hear my voice in the pages? Will they read it at all?
Tonight, one of those friends sent me a message after finishing the book, and it completely made my night. Actually, it made my week.
Writing can feel like a very solitary thing. You spend hours in your head, dreaming up characters and dialogue, often wondering if any of it will ever mean anything to someone else. So when a friend not only reads your book, but takes the time to tell you what they loved - it’s everything. I know how full life is. Time is the most precious thing we all have, and when someone chooses to spend a few of their hours reading something I’ve written? It honestly fills me with more joy and gratitude than I can say.
To my friend: thank you. Your words meant the world to me. And don’t worry - I’m keeping you anonymous, because your text was so good that I know a few people (you know who you are!) would absolutely try to squeeze spoilers and mystery man details out of you, lol.
To everyone who has supported this writing journey of mine - by reading, sharing, encouraging, or just sending a kind message: thank you. You’re helping me chase a dream, and I’ll never stop being grateful.
