Fill Your Life...

I love the book P.S. I Love You. Like, I could read it time after time. (I like the movie too but only because of Gerard Butler, and not so much how they did the story).
I love this quote from the book (by Cecilia Ahearn):
“She was a woman who made mistakes, who sometimes cried on a Monday morning or at night alone in bed. She was a woman who often became bored with her life and found it hard to get up for work in the morning. She was a woman who more often than not had a bad hair day, who looked in the mirror and wondered why she couldn't just drag herself to the gym more often; she was a woman who sometimes questioned what reason had she to live on this planet. She was a woman who sometimes just got things wrong.
On the other hand, she was a woman with a million happy memories, who knew what it was like to experience true love and who was ready to experience more life, more love and make new memories.”
The first time I read it, it really resonated with me. It has every time since, too. Most days, this would be a good description of me.
Have you ever come across a book that had something that just stuck with you?
I remember after reading the book, I thought about what the world will remember about me when I’m gone. We’ve been decluttering the house and it feels so good, because it reminds me that it’s not the stuff we collect that’s important, but the memories we have in our hearts of the many joyous moments we’ve had. You can’t replace those amazing memories.
And that’s what I want the world to remember: the joy. I hope when I’m 110 and nearing the end (I can hope, right??), my house is still filled with love and happiness instead of stuff and things.
