True Happiness…

This week, my oldest passed his National EMT certification, and I could not be prouder.

Watching your kids accomplish big things is incredible. But what makes it even more special is seeing how proud they are of themselves.

Right after he told us the news, he had the biggest smile on his face. A genuine, truly happy smile. The kind that lights up a room. (I did snap a photo, but he prefers not to have his pictures online, so you’ll just have to trust me!) It was one of those moments that makes your mama heart swell because you can see it so clearly - he’s proud of himself and truly happy.

And really, that’s all we want for our kids… their happiness, and for them to become good people. 

Moments like this remind me that all those years of encouraging them, cheering them on, and reminding them they can do hard things really do matter.

He’s one step closer to his goal of becoming a firefighter, and I can’t wait to celebrate every milestone along the way. But for now, my heart is full after this weekend’s good news.
